I had the opportunity to visit with Dr. Neil Jones, who is a University Professor at the University of California Los Angeles and Past President of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
As Chairman of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand Corporate Advisory Council, I was happy to plan and host the biannual meeting that involves corporate leaders, and leaders of the Hand Society. We met so that we could discuss our common agenda in improving patient care. ASSH has programs in education, research, and outreach that our corporate partners participate in actively through donations, sponsorship, and partnership. Additionally, we offer the opportunity for these companies to train our members and fellow surgeons in how to best use the latest techniques and technologies that they offer.
The Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel was a beautiful and inspiring spot in which to hold this meeting, along with the other ASSH Council meetings for the spring of 2016.
