I had the opportunity to visit with Dr. Neil Jones, who is a University Professor at the University of California Los Angeles and Past President of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
“The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco” - Mark Twain. I had the opportunity to sponsor 3 medical students from France. They rotated through my office and other offices here in our building, all affiliated with the San Francisco surgery center. They had the opportunity to observe outpatient surgery, and have a dialogue with practices in hand, orthopedics, plastic surgery, and otolaryngology.
We celebrated their rotations with a nice lunch at our favorite local Japanese restaurant in Union Square. We believe they had an excellent experience and we will look for 2 more French medical students applying for this opportunity this coming summer.
