Summer in New York City is an interesting time. Many of the full-time residents escape to the Hamptons, Montauk, or up the Hudson Valley to Columbia County for a summer break. For others, it's a great time to visit New York. A tradition that I have taken part in since my youth growing up in New York City, is to attend the US open tennis matches. Over the years, significant renovations and expansions have occurred at the National Tennis Center. The practice courts, in particular, have gotten a complete make over, complete with stadium seating, so that ones' favorite players can be observed in their practice sessions and playing practice “scrimmages” with fellow players.
