Mashairo Tatebe, M.D., the 2012 Japanese Society for Surgery of the Hand Traveling Fellow was hosted by Edward Diao, M.D. in San Francisco as the finale to his 6 week tour of the U.S.. He observed consultation visits and surgery cases at Dr. Diao’s offices, California Pacific Medical Center, University of California San Francisco and San Francisco General Hospital. Dr. Diao was honored to show Dr. Tatebe around San Francisco, exchanging thoughts on Hand Surgery and discussing different techniques. Dr. Tatebe returned to Japan safely and sent Dr. Diao a kind letter.
“Dear Dr. Diao,
I return to Japan with full of happy memories and appreciation.
Let me send you photos.
I am still excited about my wonderful experiences in San Francisco. All the people I met there were kind and friendly. I've learned a lot of things.
You were so considerate to make my stay enjoyable and comfortable.
I had a great time with you and I will never forget the days with you.
I hope to see you again in the next year. I do hope you will have a plan to visit us in Nagoya.
Thank you again for your hospitality ...
