I had the pleasure of touring the Port of Oakland shipyard with a group of physicians and administrators. This was for the express purpose of being able to integrate medical services in treating injured workers and efficiently returning them back to work. It was eye-opening to see the heavy equipment and how the containers go from ship to truck to our local stores. We have the opportunity to enter some of the specialty vehicles used at the shipyard. I was impressed with the level of safety that exists at the site. Here are some photos from the visit:
