American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons 2016 Annual Meeting: Orlando, Florida

I participated in the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgery Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida. Over 20,000 attendees participated in this week long annual meeting focused on the care and treatment of the musculoskeletal system. My major obligations included leading the face to face meetings on behalf of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand with our major industry partners. As an active volunteer and a member of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgery Council on Research and Education, I attended the presidential reception at Universal Studios, and the American Orthopaedic Association Fellowship meeting for alumni, having been past chair and past participant of the Japanese American Traveling Fellowship.

The presidential reception was held at Universal Studios. I also had the opportunity to attend alumni functions for the Columbia, Harvard, and University of California San Francisco orthopaedic programs. This was, as always, an excellent meeting and I had a nice opportunity to get together with old friends and hear about the latest results and outcomes in terms of surgical treatments.
