Bobby Hutcherson was one of the great Jazz players globally and was a fixture here in Northern California. A Memorial tribute was held at the SF Jazz Center and for 3 hours, we watched a series of photographs of the life of this luminary artist with his family and colleagues and listened to music played by his former band mates, contemporaries, and the disciples. It was deeply moving and featured an array of artists that were both world renowned and incredibly inspired to perform on behalf of the great vibraphone musician, and person, Bobby Hutcherson.
